The world of therapy opened up to me during my twenties, having returned to college to study Beauty Therapy as a young mum. This was a life long dream at the time! School had had little inspiration however, since discovering complementary therapy learning has become a passion for me and I love to share my knowledge and experience with others who are facing changes in their working life.
I enjoy using all the physical therapies with clients such as Massage and Reflexology and with Aromatherapy I find adding essential oils and herbs increases the effect massage has on tension and stress. Aromatherapy has helped me develop my skin care knowledge and I blend many products for joint, muscle and skin conditions I have also worked with an essential oil company in the past and taught Classical Aromatherapy in Taiwan.
I have been practicing Complementary therapy for over 26 years now and have taught both qualified and interest courses for 20 of those years.
I have also qualified as a Sports Massage therapist, however, in my early days found I was using this more with occupational injury more than sport. Although I have had the privilege to work alongside many physiotherapists, chiropodists and osteopaths, from whom I have been able to develop techniques to fit in with massage treatments. All this has lead me to develop my own Deep Tissue and Remedial techniques to help clients with a wide range of mobility and chronic conditions, and I have been teaching these as a short CPD course for the past 10 years.
It has also been through my own teaching practice that, I have come to respect and understand the energetic aspects of Holistic therapy treatments, when I work with the client these energetic fields can be enhanced with, Crystals, Reiki and Meditation it brings a true sense of wholeness to the therapy and the psychological and spiritual experience of the client, I encourage students to also explore these aspects in the training room too.
I have run successful clinics both in Trowbridge and Midsomer Norton, worked Colleges and for private schools running both VTCT and CPD programs and am looking forward to sharing my knowledge and skills with students in the beautiful Mendips.
